Hello dessert enthusiasts! Today we’re introducing a family treasure – Mom’s Renowned Cream Puffs. This delightful confectionery, with its light choux pastry and luscious cream filling, is the perfect sweet treat to end a meal or enjoy with afternoon tea.

These cream puffs, passed down through generations in my family, have a special place in our hearts. The recipe features a light, airy pastry filled with a rich, creamy filling. The perfect balance between the two makes this dessert irresistible!

Preparation Time:

Approximately 30 minutes

Cooking Time:

45 minutes

Servings:

This recipe makes about 12 cream puffs.

Ingredients:

For the Puffs:

1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter

1 cup of water

1 cup of all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon of salt

4 large eggs

For the Cream Filling:

2 cups of heavy cream

1/4 cup of granulated sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions:

Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium saucepan, bring the butter and water to a boil. Remove from heat.

Immediately add the flour and salt to the saucepan and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball.

Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will result in a smooth, glossy dough.

Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each puff.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool on the baking sheet.

While the puffs are cooling, prepare the cream filling:

In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Once the puffs have cooled, cut off the top of each puff and fill with the whipped cream.

Replace the tops and dust with powdered sugar, if desired.

Conclusion:

And there you have it – Mom’s Renowned Cream Puffs! This elegant dessert is sure to impress your guests and satisfy your sweet tooth. Give it a try and experience the heavenly combination of light pastry and creamy filling!

Remember to like, share, and comment if you enjoy this recipe. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for more delightful recipes to sweeten your days!

Please note: For best results, allow the puffs to cool completely before filling them with the cream.
