Creamy Eggnog Pie

 

Celebrate the holiday season with a delectable Creamy Eggnog Pie, a perfect dessert to share with your loved ones. This festive pie combines the rich flavors of eggnog and spices in a smooth, creamy filling.

Ingredients:

1 prepared pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

1 1/2 cups eggnog

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup cornstarch

4 large egg yolks

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Whipped cream and nutmeg for garnish

Directions:

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Filling:

In a medium saucepan, whisk eggnog, heavy cream, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat until it gently boils, stirring constantly.

In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add a bit of the hot eggnog mixture to the yolks, whisking constantly (to temper them).

Slowly pour the tempered egg mixture back into the saucepan, whisking continuously.

Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes).

Add Flavorings:

Remove from heat; stir in butter, vanilla extract, and nutmeg until combined.

Bake the Pie:

Pour the filling into the pie crust.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center.

Cool completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Garnish and Serve:

Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
